Tess Durack
Copy, content + feature writing

About

I am a writer of web copy that sells, blogs that amuse, entertain, and inform, and product descriptions that seduce. I am a master of the art of deciphering biro scrawls, faded inscriptions, and frenzied notes, and translating them into perfectly punctuated prose.

From parenting to parasites, from cranes to craft beer, from frocks to finance – I can produce engaging, well-researched, on-brand copy on any subject.

I write for magazines and newspapers on a range of topics including Australian travel, lifestyle, entrepreneurship, business, women’s issues, and parenting.

I love telling stories. And I haven’t found a subject yet that isn’t interesting. Even cloud-based tax technology has its own poetry. Yes, really.

If you need help telling yours, drop me a line at hello@tessdurack.com.au

I have a BA with Honours in Art History and Theory and a Master of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from Sydney University (try saying that three times fast).

I’ve worked for Sotheby’s, Dinosaur Designs, ING, Woodhead Architects and, for the last twelve years, myself. I’ve been a small business owner and online retailer (fist bumps all round for you solo operators out there – it’s tough) but full-time freelance writing has been my gig for the last seven years.

I love the ocean and the outback in equal measure. I’m a fully paid up member of the craft beer band wagon. I’m very fond of books, olives and parrots. Want to know more? Give me a (virtual) shout.

I acknowledge and pay my respects to the Bidjigal and Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, traditional custodians of the lands and waters on which I work, play and parent.
